Appointment Packet Not Received Yet

Is a certificate received with a conditional appointment (pending waiver)? LOA received last night.
Yes, BFE came for my DS in December. He received a conditional appointment and is still waiting for a waiver.

This seems to strange to me that they would make it seem official if it isn't 100%. We are in same boat.

What did the "official package" entail? Was it just the same document that was on the portal saying that you had been offered admission?

Earlier this month, 2 weeks ago I believe.

Maybe they do, but DD is hoping not…. She doesn’t want to have to choose between her two top options 🤣🤣🤣

Confirming, it is the appointment BFE
My official package is exactly what @jbm2m posted today. It contained the folder with the certificate (pictured), and a letter with instructions to contact my ALO for an award ceremony, and a paragraph about all appointment's being conditional:

"In accordance with the United States Code section 9441a, "An appointment is conditional until the cadet is admitted." This means your appointment is conditional until you take the Oath of Office on In-processing Day. You must have a qualifying medical status, continue to perform well in academics, and have an exemplary conduct record between now and In-processing Day to be eligible to take the Oath of Office and be admitted as a cadet to the United States Air Force Academy."

My interpretation - all appointments are conditional. I am currently under waiver review, but my appointment is more than an LOA.

If anyone else knows better, please let me know. This is just what I have found.

Strange thing is that it had the accept button on there - is that usually with a conditional appointment?
They may be doing things differently. When my daughter had an LOA, she had to wait for the waiver. However, it does sound like USAFA is asking if you want the appt.

I suppose if you decline, then that means the waiver authority (team of physicians) won't need to review your medical records.

As they say-- the only thing constant in the military, is change.

From digging in on the admissions website, it looks like LOA comes when you need medical and nom. Once you get nom, it changes from an LOA to a conditional appointment. 🤷‍♂️
