3Q'd + Principle Nomination here. I just got an email from my Congresswoman's Office informing me that West Point was going to offer me an appointment. I still have not received any communication from USMA, and I am wondering if this is normal? Has anyone heard of this happening before?
 
It is fairly common for the Academy to give the nominating MoC a chance to inform their nominee of the appointment before posting it to the portal or sending an email.

Same situation with my DS. Call from Congresswoman > portal notification > physical 'packet' in the mail (aka BFE). I think it was about 7 days between the first call and getting the BFE. It was a nice sequence of events, because it allowed my son to properly thank the congresswoman and share his excitement.

Just do a final bit of waiting --> they'll probably release your appointment during the next wave of them
 
Thursday. Check your portal on Thursday. Your Congressman gets a head start to surprise you. It is real. Try not to harass the mailman.

And really, if it is Friday instead of Thursday...it is ok...it will be ok and you won't even remember the wait. Just the phone call and eventually the BFE. It is a big deal in your life. Congrats again...and Go Army...Always!

Congrats! Similar wait going on here.

DS got his call from MOC last Weds. Call from his other nominating MOC on Thursday. Showed up in portal on Friday with a message saying congrats on appointment. Still waiting on the mail so he can take pictures and send to friends/family. The portal has a button to accept, but he’s waiting (very impatiently) until the mail comes with the official certificate and paperwork….crossing our fingers it’s soon because he wants to let everyone know!

Not sure when USMA let MOCs know about the appointments but DD got her call from MOC office last Tuesday and her portal was finally updated today. DS got his call this afternoon, which is also a Tuesday.

Congratulations! It will come. Our son received something similar and it took around a week to show up in the portal and then another couple of weeks to get the BFE. Just be careful w/ expectations as it could still take a while .... it will come.

We are the same situation. Haven’t gotten BFE yet. Getting a call from Field officer>portal update at the same time> BFE not arrived yet. It has been more than a week of waiting. However, we start to prepare paper work and get finger print done.

BFE contains a certificate of your appointment and some high school graduation decoration -- very nice souvenirs --- nothing for paper work.
 
@Touch123 If you have received the emails about fingerprints and PSI-CoE, you're fine.

The package is sent via USPS --- so it might show up between today and never. Or maybe yesterday. It will show up, and it's worthy of a little family sit-down/celebration when it does.
