No email or phone call, but my portal displays that I've received an appointment. Am I just waiting on the congratulatory email or call?
You may start your Happy Dance. No email or phone call, but my portal displays that I've received an appointment. Am I just waiting on the congratulatory email or call?
DS never did receive a phone call or email. Did receive a letter with his BFE though. No email or phone call, but my portal displays that I've received an appointment. Am I just waiting on the congratulatory email or call?

Same here. Never received a call but it was definitely a pleasant surprise to see I received an appointment after a routine portal check on a groggy Thursday morning during homeroomNo email or phone call, but my portal displays that I've received an appointment. Heat Miser, you were in class? What did you do? Did you stand up & start hooting & hollering? Did you text your mama?Same here. Told my friends and went out in the hallway and called my family members one by one.Heat Miser, you were in class? What did you do? Did you stand up & start hooting & hollering? Did you text your mama?
None of your decisions are binding. They are not going to come get you and make you go to an SA.Ok so I have a question, if I were to accept my appointment to USMA, but I change my mind, is there a way to go back and decline? I have been done with my USNA app. since October and haven't heard anything, and I have been leaning towards USMA anyway, but in the case I get into USNA and have a change of heart, would I be able to pull out of the commitment to West Point?
Yes, it is possible to withdraw your commitment. However, if you are waiting on USNA, then there is no reason for you to just go ahead and accept to USMA right now. As mentioned, you have until May 1 to make a decision, so why add an extra complication by accepting an offer that you might ultimately withdraw.Ok so I have a question, if I were to accept my appointment to USMA, but I change my mind, is there a way to go back and decline? Yes, you can. Happens all the time. USAFA gives you a deadline, for example, gives you a deadline prior to 1 May. So you have to accept if you are still waiting for your USMA decision.Ok so I have a question, if I were to accept my appointment to USMA, but I change my mind, is there a way to go back and decline? If it makes you feel any better, I was having the exact same conversation with my parents about this the other night. I’m waiting on navy, but I’ve been sitting on an army appointment for over two months now. I’m gonna wait to see before I make a decision, but it’s very tempting to accept it and end the uncertainty.Thank you so much for the help. I'm probably gonna give it until April to make a decision. I just want to get somewhere set in stone, the waiting is killing me.
Consider the lifestyle you want and how you want to serve. Consider the thing you wish to study. Do you have a Navy ROTC scholarship too?If it makes you feel any better, I was having the exact same conversation with my parents about this the other night.
