I'm a candidate for both USNA as well as NROTC. DoDMERB has requested medical waivers for a couple of mild concussions I received playing football a couple years ago. The concussions have not had any impact on my ability to learn in the classroom. The medical process has been extremely frustrating, but I'm to the point where I've submitted everything requested of me and I'm just waiting to hear back. As of yesterday, I was granted a medical waiver by USNA and I have a couple questions about what that means. First, does that mean I'm likely to be given an appointment? If so, what does the process after that look like? Additionally, if USNA was willing to give me a waiver, will NROTC give me one as well? Thank you.

Being granted a waiver is a positive development for you. Not a sure thing but I think that you might hear news of an appointment from USNA soon.
To your last question, USNA and NROTC medical waivers are separate processes and what one does has not bearing on the other.

Why would they grant a medical waiver if the intention was to reject you?

Give it a few days.

The process after a waiver is the offer of an appointment, the acceptance or declination of the offer. If you accept they will communicate with you. There are no mysteries.

Different waiver authorities. No idea if both give waiver.

Not sure what it means for NROTC, but it is great to hear that someone is seeing movement on medical waivers at USNA. Congratulations!

Do you have a LOA? If your waiver was granted, and you have an LOA, start queuing up the happy dance! Waiver is also a very good sign.

Nope. No LOA as of right now. I think waiver is a good indicator though, I agree.

I mentioned this on another thread, but DS was told that the waiver process won't be started unless you are in line for an appointment, so I would think that is good news! Congrats!
