April 15th

I have a nomination and still listed as pending. I had the nomination and everything completed since November. I have been feeling I was being just stringed along to April 15th to receive the TWE but reading some of the posts I do feel a little better that maybe I am hanging around for a reason.

The fact of the matter, is y’all have competitive, amazing resumes. Unfortunately there isn’t enough room for all of you. So, decisions are being made. Some decisions are based upon other pieces of the puzzle (ie: does another offered candidate with a medical issue resolve? Or not? Or, does an offered candidate accept, or not? Or BOTH???). There are lots of moving pieces to all of this, and moving/resolving one can have a domino affect on others (a visual for you). While it might seem ‘easy’ to you as an individual candidate (or parent), it really isn’t. This isn’t happening for the sport of it.

Some of you will receive a ‘not this year’. That doesn’t change who you are and your qualifications. What you do next year can further boost up your resume. Every year a significant piece of the class comes from candidates just like you, who USNA couldn’t fit in this year, but worked a plan to reapply.

Good luck to everyone. Y’all are great, or you wouldn’t be here 🍀

Is there any data on P-Nom chances? I heard something about USAFA and USMA basically having to give appointments (if at all possible) to P-Nom recipients. Is that true? Regardless, how do P-Noms affect your chances at USNA?

Thanks in advance,
- H
I had a Pnom and didn't get in. Idk if that answers your question or not lol

I don't have any data on a P-Nom's chances and no one would, as that would require knowing someone's 3Q status. Just remember having a nom, even if it's a P-nom, does not guarantee an offer of appointment. There are many people on here who have received P-noms and never received an appointment.

Same for my DS.
