Are there any other sessions for SLE?

I would really like to go to SLE if I'm accepted and I submitted my application a while ago, but i just realized that finals end on June 8 for me and that the only SLE sessions that are listed right now overlap with my last 2 weeks of class. I know the Naval Academy's summer seminar has later sessions, is the same true for SLE?

SLE only has the two sessions. If/when you get accepted check with your principal, counselor, and teachers, they may let you take finals early. My kids' school is very accommodating so your school may be also but you have to ask. Some teachers may be more willing than others so you may have to use other people(principal, counselor, or other teachers) to help persuade them to be on board. Our school district counts it as an excused absence and is sometimes listed as a school field trip. You can make it work. It may just take some extra effort on your part. Good luck!

Thanks, I'll make sure to talk to my counselor about missing class. I'd rather take the later session and take my finals earlier than miss the week of school before finals.

update: i got accepted, planning on talking with my teachers now to open the possibility of me taking finals early but I'll try to make sure I have as high of a grade as possible in each class so they're more likely to be on board with the idea

I recommend talking to your guidance counselor first. Your individual teachers may not be as familiar w your school’s policy.

Several of my students in Oregon and California arranged to complete their school work and test early to attend both SLE and USNA SS. It happens fairly often. Moving sessions is typically not an option with an offer. Congratulations on the SLE acceptance! Now you have time to plan and prepare.

This happened to my son because we are from New Jersey. He didn't get into SLE but was selected for a Marine Corp Character Development Academy in Quantico, Va. which he made mention of in his WP app. as you can imagine Covid canceled it but it was still a feather in his cap. Had he been selected we were going to see if the school would make some accommodations. Keep in mind getting into SLE doesn't really increase your chances for acceptance so I've heard
