Assuming that you're talking about the Football game, it is always played on a Saturday and the Full Corps of Cadets and Brigade of Midshipman will attend. No pass or liberty is involved as it is a required event.

Attendance for the game is required. Our Plebe got a pass and stayed with us in a hotel in NJ and we got him to the game at the appointed time to join his company for the march on. After the game he rejoined us and we took him back to WP on Sunday. Note that last year the game was on Saturday and exams started on that Monday or Tuesday. The Plebe can get a pass but the game is mandatory.

It’s a mandatory evolution for both Corps of Cadets and Brigade of Midshipmen. There are convoys of Army and Navy buses headed to gameday stadiums at oh-dark-thirty. Plebes will take their place with thousands of other cadets for the March On.

Search YouTube for A-N Game Day March On and other events. Plebes on both sides are unlikely to sit down for hours. Mandatory fun for all!

When our son was a Plebe (2019) the game was in Philly. He and some friends were able to take a pass and rented an AirBNB. They made their way to the stadium at the designated time and watched the game. We say him some during the game and took his group out to dinner afterwards. In addition to the "boomerang" bus (down right before the game and back right after) the school arranged a few buses to take those on pass Philadelphia. I believe it cost approximately $50 per person to ride down on Friday and back on Sunday. 2020 was the cadet-only COVID game at WP. Last year, of course, was at the Meadowlands, which was super convenient to WP cadets.

During this 2019 event. Navy sent some YP's to Philly. My DS was also a Plebe and travelled to Philly by YP. He got to stand lookout watch and experience that refreshing feel of winter wind and cold...good officers understand how to take care of lookouts.

Ahh, I'm hoping they do the "WP to Philly and back" on Friday and Sunday bus again this year.

Plebes can take a pass if they have a pass available to use. They get a limited number of passes per semester, and obviously plebes have the fewest passes authorized. If they take pass, there is a specific formation time that they must report on Saturday for the march on (regardless of location - Philly, NY, New England, etc.). They will complete the march on and sit with the Corps of Cadets. They can visit with you in the stands during the game or at halftime. After the game, if they are already on pass, then they only have to be back by the accountability formation time on Sunday evening. And as with last year, their exam week does begin on the Monday right after Army-Navy weekend.

Most of the time the pass for A/N is not charged to the plebe as their one pass. It's considered a spirit pass, those who request pass can either find their own way to the game or take the bus for those on pass. They can stay with their parents or with friends. They arrive late afternoon friday and return late morning sunday.

Good point. Last year, I believe our son was required to take one of his available passes. He didn't mention about being granted a special spirit pass, but it is certainly possible. He did have a couple of performance passes on top of his one-per-semester pass last fall. They also granted a couple of spirit passes that could be used after a couple of the home football games.

If the Plebe is not in good standing ie. Academically, they will likely be required to take the “boomerang bus”. It brings them to the game, and immediately back to their SA after the game.

I assume Army has a “restrictee” bus just as Navy does. Restrictees travel to the game on their dedicated bus, execute game day, return immediately to their bus after game to return to USNA.

I wonder when the Navy starts to populate local area farms with "Bill the Goat" imposters and stunt doubles? Last year, our beloved Army friends managed to capture an arthritic goat with one horn and thought that was our mascot.

Oh, I forgot, we don't do anything like that anymore.:cool:

Yes, when three stars threaten severe punishment and yet, somehow it still happens, one might look to see if
actual punishments happened.

Got some inside information from a trusted source regarding what happened to the cadets involved in the heist. Rest assured, the punishment was severe. They will definitely be replacing the taps on their shoes (assuming they still use those).

Those Cadets involved in the appropriation were "Sponsored" in their caper.

Old habits are apparently hard to break.;)
