Army ROTC 3-Year Advance Designee Scholarship (3U)

Christopher1, Congrats to your daughter and I bet you are both excited for the fall semester. My son is now committed to his school and getting ready for the fall by running and paying attention to PT.

I have another question that goes along with the summer training opportunities for cadets. My son is a 3 yr AD recipient. We are hopeful that this will be extended to a 3.5 year, but the ROO said that since her schools are expensive, they get less of these extensions than state schools. At any rate, if he is not extended to a 3.5 year, he is looking for summer trainings between his freshman and sophomore years before he contracts. The Project Go link above looks interesting and a good possibility.

Project GO is an awesome option if he is interested in language. My advice would be if he is set on that option is to apply to more than one. All eggs in one basket did not work out for my daughter, however some classmates applied or more than one freshman year and was given at least one.
