Hi I'm a Freshman and was wondering what are some of the summer programs offered by Army ROTC?

For Army ROTC, most instruction is campus based. Unless something has changed, there is no formal training after MS I and MS II (freshman and sophomore) years. Most MS IIs will compete for Airborne and Air Assault slots. Cadets who joined late can also compete for scholarships at Basic Camp. Get a good job/internship for MS I summer. The first three years of AROTC training prepares cadets for Advance Camp after MS III year. Advanced Camp is a 35 day training event to prepare cadets for commissioning.

Thank you so much for the information.

It really depends on the Battalion you are in. My son’s MSI class has some cadets that are going to summer training. He was offered an OpFor spot, but unless he contracts by the end of semester he won’t be able to to that this summer. He’s still under waiver review, so be sure and get your medical done as early as you can so you will have more options.
