AROTC Scholarship Board - Week of March 23, 2020

What are the chances of getting the 2 year junior military school option? Neither one of mine are considering this option. They didn't even apply to a junior military school.

Elon offers room and board plus the other benefits. This is a pretty good school and is ranked highly by the WSJ 2020 Best Colleges review. A great option. Admissions may be closed, though.

This sort of conflicting information seems strange. On one hand apparently some schools (U of San Francisco, for example) are contacting some recipients. Then there is the Montana State PMS saying that schools are supposed to not contact winners until it's official, which I took to mean that they DO know who the winners are (or else there wouldn't be any possibility of early contact). And we have other anecdotal reports saying that their programs of interest have confirmed that people are/are not winners. But then we have your ROO saying they don't even have the list of winners yet.

Hard to believe all of this is accurate.

Maybe different brigades communicate and operate differently than others :/
 
I’ve heard that tentative results are out but the official results don’t come out until the legal review is over.

This might be the explanation. Gives plausible deniability to cadre to say that they don't have the [official] list yet.

e Duty, when a promotion board meets and makes their selection, they do require a legal review to ensure there’s a somewhat representative mix - gender/ ethnicity, etc.
