AROTC upgrade chances?

I received a 3 year scholarship from this recent board to my first choice of Virginia Tech. I am ecstatic and was just wondering how often they upgrade 3 year to 4 years on the third boards? Just wondering because 25K is a lot of money and want to start thinking about my money situation. Thank you!

Upgrades are not uncommon but vary by battilion/ unit. To put yourself in the best possible position to earn an upgrade. Show up in top physical shape. Some 4 year scholarship cadets will fail the initial AFPT and may not contract opening up slots. Show up in regulation.... proper haircut, no facial hair, no piercings. Show up for the first PT in the proper running attire. Volunteer for activities, ranger challenge. Doing these things will get you noticed in a positive way. Good luck.
