Hello all, I was recently DQed for USAFA/USMA for "Asthma/reactive airway disease/exercise induced bronchospasm after age 13". They asked for a prescription record and a couple of AMIs, and the only that pointed towards this was an inhaler 3 months after my 13th birthday. I don't even think I used the inhaler, but since it was 3 months after, do you guys think it should be a problem? Any input is appreciated, thank you.

I think you’ll be fine.

The waiver authorities may make you do some testing. Once you pass those, then you shouldn’t have a problem getting a waiver.

Thanks, I hope so too. Also, how will I know if USAFA/USMA pursue a waiver? The document I was sent back wasn't entirely clear on that.

I don’t know.

Maybe that’s a question you ask the regional admissions officer to see if you’re going to be reviewed for a waiver.

Hopefully, the WA will just waiver you based on your records and not make you do any testing. If they make you do testing, then you’ll probably pass it if you haven’t had asthma symptoms in a while.

person dependent and SA dependent. USAFA might pursue a waiver and USMA might not, vice versa, they both might, or they both won't.
