Yet another asthma question, but I am just curious to see what people have to say.
I have had cough variant asthma since I was 5 that has only really flared up when I get deep chest colds or infections. I have not had one of these since I was about 14 years old. Exercise has never limited me; in fact, it has been prescribed by my doctor as a treatment for my case of asthma. I run when it is 10 degrees outside and can run four miles without any breathing difficulties, other than the standard heavy breathing that comes with running. I have not been on medication since I was 14.
I received a letter from DoDMERB saying that I was disqualified for my asthma after 13. With what I have described, does it seem as though I might be eligible for a waiver? I do not expect people to give a positive affirmative or negative, as DoDMERB will decide that. I just want to know what people think of my situation.
Thanks!!
