Can any of you give me some info on the ASVAB test usually offered to high school juniors? Is it strictly given as a tool to recruit enlisted or does it also screen for possible ROTC and SA candidates? Where do the results go ... strictly to recruiters or to SA's as well?

That is a great question. My son who is applying for an AFROTC scholarship asked me if he should have taken the ASVAB. It wasn't in the list of application requirements so I figured he didn't need it. Hope I'm not wrong.

As far as I'm aware of it is strictly an enlisted recruiting tool to determine what MOS's you would be best suited for. Definitely not an academy requirement or even something they look at.

I would suggest taking it anyways, as it's an extremely easy test. I took it as a sophomore and scored very well on it (it basically stated that I could do whatever I wanted to in the military). Good results would undoubtedly impress whichever group you're applying to.

Thank you all very much for answering ... that was the info I got on it, but wanted to be sure from someone who had been there before!
