Took the ASVAB at my HS recently just to see how I would fare on the test (Yes, I know that the ASVAB is used for enlisting and not commissioning). I ended up doing well on the test, and was wondering if it would be worth a bullet on my USAFA App this fall, what’s your advice on this?

Just my prospective, so take it with a grain of salt. Including it in your application wouldn’t hurt at all. To the best of my knowledge though, your success on the ASVAB doesn’t increase your chances. But keep in mind, that seeing that you have taken the test and done well shows your dedication to a future in military and admissions likes serious, dedicated candidates.

So my advice would be to include it but don’t depend on it to increase your chances of admissions.

IMHO, given the purpose of this test, most of the candidates would also do well on this test and would not provide any differentiation for you on your application. I don't believe that more is always better on an application -- if an item is not adding value, then it is in essence noise that could help obscure meaningful items on your résumé.

Thank you all for your input. I was already unsure about putting the scores in my application and now I’m more informed. Although, if anyone has any other input I’m perfectly willing to listen to it
