Bancroft Renovation

It was a 5-reunion weekend. Alumni everywhere. We had our share of mid sponsor family alumni staying with us or dropping by. Great fun. Gorgeous weekend. Excellent game.

We debated going up to the Meadowlands for N-ND coming up but are opting for the big screen, comfy couches, clean bathrooms and good food, plus replays and zoom camera shots from the Sofa Suite here.
Indeed perfect weather! It was one of the better crowds at the game until halftime. Navy was up so much I think a lot of Alumns decided to head back out to their many tailgates.

I'll be there at the game on Navy side, row 14 endzone corner with DW. I'll be the guy with the N* hat on! ;)

Wait...not everyone on SAF is focusing on my posts and only my posts????? This can't be right........... Just kidding.

My fault as I thought you were trying to help me out. Lord knows I often need it.
I am always here for you. Now, here are my recommendations for cruise shore excursions on that Alaska cruise you mentioned in a Chance Me thread…

Back to the original theme of this post, the renovation. This info was taken from USNA website news center:
"The Bancroft Recapitalization (renovation) Program will repair the steps and interior of the center section of Bancroft Hall, as well as all eight wings of the dormitory to include HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire protection, building exterior, and interior finishes. The project will be completed through a series of integrated projects that will span approximately 15 years. The first phase of construction...will focus on the center section of stairs leading up to Bancroft Hall and deteriorated paint and plaster in the Rotunda. This phase also includes increasing berthing in wings two through eight in order to provide flexibility and prepare to relocate midshipmen in the follow-on phases. The first phase is expected to be completed in 2026. "

Just put up the construction fences in front of Bancroft steps.

Is there a "chase all the rats out" phase of construction I wonder? Seriously do wonder if that will improve as they'll bee in there updating HVAC, etc

The solution to mice/rats in the 'Hall is to give Plebes traps, and make a competition of it. :)

True story, back in the day, a bunch of our Plebes started a competition to see who could catch the most mice in the overhead. Back then, each room had a cork bulletin board by the door, and each morning the Plebes would hang up their kills by the tail.

Might not fly in today's kinder gentler world, but our Company Officer , a Mustang Marine Major, got a kick out it !
