This is very off topic, but I was hoping that someone on these forums could help.

I'm doing a video project for my terrorism studies class, and I have a part as a Brigadier General. I was wondering where and what patches and insignia to put on BDUs (I can't get the dress uniform)? I have a set of BDUs, I'm just not sure what patches it should have.

This is his picture in his dress uniform. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Dozier.jpg

do you want totally accurate, or something that looks good?
Totally accurate: Olive Drab (OD) Name tape over right breast pocket, with name centered and none of the patch hanging over the pocket.
OD "US ARMY" Tape over left breast pocket, same stipulation as the name.
Brig. Gen. Star on collar, cloth OD, one on each side. the rank should be sewn parallel with the edge of the collar and 1 inch from the edge.
since this guy is Airborne and Ranger qualified: sew the airborne wings 1/2 inch over the "US ARMY" tape on the left side.
sew the black and gold Ranger Tab on the left shoulder, in the same position as in the picture.
The Unit patch is the same as in the picture, under the Ranger Tab.
That's for totally realistic...if you just want a uniform that looks good, disregard all but the name and "US ARMY" tapes and the rank insignia.
Remember to wear black combat boots with it, and tuck the pants into the boot.
Do you need a hat? if so, you could use a black beret or a patrol cap. On the beret, the rank goes centered in the blue shield, and it is a metal Sta-Brite rank. On the patrol cap, it's an OD cloth rank, it goes centered on the front of the cap.
Anyone, please don't hesitate to correct me if I'm wrong...I'm going off of memory of what my dad wore before switching to ACUs...
Hope this helps!

That's pretty good Condor:thumb: Couple things- When General Dozier was kidnapped they were just rolling out the BDUs-( no berets other than SF; Ranger and SF units- He was the DAO in Italy). The name tape & US Army & unit patches, ranger tab and rank & qualification badges should also be sudued- not black and gold or colored.

It's interesting that you are doing a video of this - the Red Brigades & the kidnapping of BG Dozier seems like a long time ago and is a subject that no one thinks about anymore. It's hard to remember that in West Germany and Italy in the 70s and early 80s there was a really active terrorist movement with the Red Brigades and the Red Army faction and this was the beginning of the end for them when the Italians managed to infiltrate the Red Brigades.
Good luck with your project
