BEAST Letters

The band Lynyrd Skynyrd was named because of this line in that song:

"You remember Leonard Skinner? He got ptomaine poisoning last night after dinner.”
 
One thing to consider is how the mail gets out. You might send a letter today, and it's a crapshoot when it gets there. But as a parent, it was (no one probably writes after Beast, once you get your phone back) nice to get a letter. Parents beware, they won't always be "loving it here, it's like summer camp at the Y"..........hmm.. never got one of those.

Our new cadet sent exactly one letter telling us how much he appreciated our letters, to keep them coming, and how little time he had to write back. He told us to tell his girlfriend the same thing in case his letter to her didn't get through.

He assured us that he was fine and was upbeat about all of the skills he was learning in basic training. The only complaint was lack of sleep.

The letter meant a lot to us, and we kept the flow of letters to him going throughout Beast.
