Has anyone received a BFE before already being notified some other way? I know that it used to be that the first time you hear is by mail, but I am wondering if those days are gone.
Agree with Navyhoops. DS heard by phone from Senator's office approximately one week before status change appeared on portal. Then official certificate arrived about a week after appointment was accepted on portal. Correct me if I am wrong, but it is my understanding that BFE does not get mailed out until after appointment has been accepted. Which makes sense. Why mail a BFE to a candidate who has no intention of accepting their offer of appointment?Haven't heard of any lately hearing by BFE first. Usually it's MOC call. If that doesn't happen then by portal update. I think the only way someone would hear by BFE first is if they aren't checking their portal.
This is a post from nap 11 in the Portal Status Notifications thread: "When you receive an appointment your portal changes from "Complete Pending Review" to "Fully Qualified Offer of Appointment." After you accept you appointment the status changes from "Fully Qualified Offer of Appointment" to "Offer Accepted" and displays three actions to complete (Police Check, Citizenship, and Body Altercation)".What does the portal wording change to once there is an appointment or a denial? What to look for? Thank heavens my daughter has waaaayyy more patience than me!
If your definition of BFE is the nice "Certificate of Appointment" signed by the Superintendent in a nice padded folder, it is not mailed after appointment is accepted. I think it is still important for many candidates and parents to accept after finding this "milestone" arrived in their mailbox. No longer just words you read in your email or merely getting a phone call, it is a real thing in your hand.but it is my understanding that BFE does not get mailed out until after appointment has been accepted.
