I am new to this forum but I am wondering if anyone in Ohio has received their Bfe yet. My son received an LOA on Aug. 4th and then had interviews in September, November and December with Congressman and both Senators. He received a nom from MOC on December 3rd and nom from Senator on December 17th. His online portal was updated on December 18th but he has not received anything in the mail. I have been following the 2019 appointment thread and only see one from Ohio but don't know if it's an appointment or just a nom still waiting. Curious and patiently waiting!

Not from Ohio, but can give you an idea of my DD's timeline. She received an LOA on October 16th. Nomination in early December that was received by USNA on December 10th. Appointment dated December 17th, arrived in our mailbox on December 29th. DD's BGO did email her on Christmas Eve to tell her that she had been offered an appointment. I would give it some time to work through the system. Also be aware that admissions gets quite busy with applications, CVWs, STEM applications, and NASS applications open next week. That along with the holiday may be the reason for the delay. Your DS can also contact his BGO if he has questions as to his status. Congrats!

Thanks for your reply! The timeline makes sense and he is hopeful that it is the holiday mail that has held things up. According to your timeline he hopes to hear something soon! Congrats to your daughter! I am sure it made a nice Christmas gift!

DS got LOA (NH Congressional Districtt 1) on Dec 22nd and had NOM's from both Senators and Congressman Went to a reception on the 27th help by the Senator with all kids she nominated and she called and congratulated him on appointment PRIOR to event. Dobmerb's came back qualified. Still haven't received BFE. Should we call admissions or BGO? DS is concerned, I told him to relax, but should I worry as well?

I would give it more time. The holiday season slows things down. As I stated in my timeline, my daughter's LOA was back in October, and her nomination showed up on her portal dated December 10th. Her BFE was dated December 17th, but didn't arrive until after Christmas (she was qualified with Dodmerb back in August). If that timeline holds true, and taking into account the holiday, he will probably receive the BFE next week or so. He can always contact his BGO for confirmation of his appointment, but my DD's BGO was not aware of when/if she had received the actual BFE in the mail.

My son just received a call from our Senator congratulating him on his appointment and informing him his BFE will arrive next week! I will let you know when it arrives!

I am a BGO from Ohio, and my impression is that the nomination selections are not totally announced, which would explain the delay in announcing offers to the candidates. I suspect that the situation will be resolved in the next couple of weeks if not sooner (there is a slight lag between information being received and being posted). So far as offers of appointment are concerned, there is a deliberate delay built into the system to permit the nominators the opportunity to be the person to contact the appointee personally to announce the offer of appointment. Normally the BGO's do not receive that information for about 7 to 10 days after the selection has been released to the nominator. There may be exceptions to this procedure, but they tend to be rare. BTW we still are very early in the selection process; normally it really heats up around the end of January.

Thanks to all that replied! My son's BGO sent an email yesterday letting him know that he had received an offer of appointment and that the paperwork should arrive in the next week or so. Will definitely post when it arrives!

Son recieved call from Congressman just after christmas congratulating him on offer of appointment (verbal), then in rapid succession received LOA (pending medical waiver), then 2 days letter medical waiver approved by USNA Medical officer (letter first week of January). Then like clockwork 4 days later received (1/16) BFE from USNA admissions. We are very happy! As due diligence, we will visit in April (spring break) his top three schools and make a decision then. Of course, USNA is front runner, but we promised him early in his app process we would re-visit his top three schools, stay overnite, and give him as much exposure as we can to this important career decision. Good luck to all other candidates.
In the end, there will be more qualified candidates then offers yet we believe even if our son would have not been offered an appointment he has grown temendously as a person thru this process. No regrets!

Congratulations to your son! Amazing how quick your timeline was! Curious as to which congressional district you are in. It seems they all do things a little differently. Good luck to your son as he makes those college visits in April. I truly believe the best way to get a good sense of things is to do the overnight visits. Keep us posted on his decision!

Congrats Mikey!!
I saw in the appointment thread that you are from a district in Michigan. Is that correct? Just curious because the above post was made in the "BFE in Ohio" thread. If you are from Ohio, do you mind me asking which district? Thanks, and congrats once again!!

My son's BFE arrived today! Just waiting on school to be over now! They had said it was going to be mailed out Monday, pretty fast considering we live in a rural area and don't even have mail service everyday.

Congrats to your son! I know the waiting can be hard, but so worth it!! Go Navy!
