For those of you who have received your BFE did it come through the regular mail or through fedex or other delivery company.
How long after you learned I out your appointment did you get your BFE?

Sign up for informed delivery, at USPS.com and you will see it on its arrival day.

My DS accepted appointment on March 30th, we’re in OH and still waiting. He’s waiting on the BFE to feel likes it’s official official (duplicate word for emphasis). I totally get it, he has them from USMA and USAFA and they absolutely live up to the hype! USMA BFE came with other cool stuff including something to put on his cap at graduation. I sure hope USNA is the same! Go Navy!

Sorry to disappoint, it won’t be the same. A BFE with a nice cover and letter and that’s it, no additional cool stuff.

Most definitely not Navy culture, much less Marine. Not wrong, just different.

As a Navy person, I still need an expert tour guide around an Army officer uniform - tabs, patches, former units, ribbons, devices, insignia. Fascinating, and I love to hear all about it and see it on. Navy officer service dress uniform - sleeve stripes for rank, just the top row of ribbons if not wearing all, warfare pin, command at sea/shore pin as applicable past/present (in command, opposite side from ribbons; past command, same side), joint badge as applicable, name tag, very little else. Same kind of lean and mean approach to cleanliness aboard ship - you cannot be fastidious and spare enough, and no gear adrift. As I said, not wrong, just different, culturally.

I can promise you, my DS couldn’t care less (might just be me!). He’ll take whatever ever they send and be thrilled. He’s been “Go Navy” throughout the entire process!

Is the BFE just a blue binder with an official appointment letter inside?
My DS received that before he even accepted his appointment but is he supposed to receive something else in the mail after he's accepted the appointment on his USNA portal? Like a handbook or anything? Thank you.

That’s it. There will be a Permit to Report (PTR) with information and paperwork soon. It will only be available electronically, no mail.

Keep an eye on this link for Class of 2026. It will likely update in the next 30 days for 2027. Much of the info will be the same.

The Permit To Report is the To Do action list.

I have noticed that they are editing the pages on the website around PTR. I imagine it will be very soon.

I still have not received my BFE 2 weeks after I got the call. I signed up for the USPS program and see nothing too. Should I give admissions a polite call and ask?

Took two full weeks for my son to get his. He definitely saw it as a tangible validation, but it’s just that. My opinion, given how agonizingly slow aspects of the process are, be patient.

USPS informed delivery is day of delivery. Not future delivery.

An no, don’t bother them. They are busy. It will come.
