So this is probably the wrong time and place to ask, but I'll ask anyway....
Does anyone know if incoming plebes can make a @usna.edu gmail account through blackboard? I have received and accepted appointment.
Reason for me wanting to do so is so I can get the student discount on Apple Music

Plebes don't typically get an EMail address until the end of Plebe Summer.
You will receive an Alpha Code on I-Day. You will become that code, and write it on everything. Your EMail address will incorporate your alpha code as part of it, so it's pretty easy to remember.

Maybe I didn't understand the question though. What would "a @usna.edu gmail account" even be? If it ends in .edu, it's not a gmail account.

I don't know what Apple's Discount applies to, but you are not a Midshipman yet. If USNA gives you access prior to I Day, I would expect directions will be included in the PTR packet.

The way the usna email works is similar to how most colleges do it, the address is @usna.edu, but it’s powered by Gmail. A Google account is created for every mid and faculty for the purposes of email and some other stuff like calendars, and the username for that account is that person’s USNA email address.

As for OP’s question, nope, unfortunately you will not get an account until the end of Plebe Summer.
