Hello!
I am very fortunate to have accepted my appointment to USAFA on the 25th(a Christmas miracle!). I’ve been hoping to see the cool blue folder in the mail, but so far I’ve not had any luck. Does anyone know how long after an appointment is accepted that a blue folder is typically received?

Congrats! If you consider Federal Holidays, the employees who would act on your acceptance and get a package in the mail are likely returning to the office for the first time this week. I'm sure you are excited, but my suggestion would be to give it two weeks from today.

I have been seeing DD and DS a lot in this forum, and I understand the second letter D means Daughter, and S means Son. What does the first D mean? Thanks.

My son got his over a month after acceptance from USNA.

Dear

A useful link up top is the acronym list.

Did you receive the blue folder?

@2000124627 First off, congratulations on accepting your offer! You see on here all the time to be patient and wait for a possible offer of appointment. It is a marathon and not a sprint. Well, you are in a different situation - much like my DS. Luckily he received and accepted his offer of appointment in mid-November, so we got to avoid the long wait. We waited and waited but there was no blue folder. Many, many others were posting about accepting offers and receiving their blue folders within a week or two. Yet DS did not receive his. BUT it did finally show up -- around mid-March, it was delivered USPS to our house.
SO, in essence we ran a sprint for the offer but then had to run a marathon for the blue folder . Not sure if this will be the same for you, but you can verify with your ALO about whether or not they typically receive the blue folder or you do.

good luck at USAFA

Thanks for your reply. Do you have to accept the offer before receiving the blue folder?

Like the others have responded, I don't believe so -- but not really sure.
One piece of advice for BCT this summer, start running now -- and when you think you've run enough, run some more! DS said getting into "running shape" was the best thing he did prior to I-Day.
