I know that there are plenty of threads on this topic, but I just wanted to try and get current information, does anyone have an opinion on the best boots for Beast? Right now I am leaning towards Oakley Assault boots, but I have also heard good things about Nike and Garmont.
Any advice helps, thanks.

Most recommended boot for Army Ranger School. I sent a pair to a student mid course. Cheaper on Amazon. I have no idea if they are on the list.

Make sure you break them in.

Congratulations and best of luck!

My son is a Yuk at West Point. As long as the boots you select are AR-670-1 compliant, nobody is going to care. He's on his 3rd pair of purchased boots. He started with the Garmont's, but blew those up at Beast and half of Plebe year. He then tried some (expensive) Reeboks, and they were wearing prematurely (I believe he has kept them for garrison activity). His favorite boots are the ones he took to CBT last summer, the Belleville Coyote C320 Ultra Light Assault Boots, which were available (and cheap) at our local PX. He doesn't talk much about boots but he has said they are the best combination of being light, comfortable, providing support, and drying quickly - all important characteristics of boots.

If you splurge on anything, splurge on boots. But also understand that they are personal. What works for me won’t work for you.
And yeah, plan on going through a pair in Beast.

The Oakleys are great for the academic year, but are not robust or protective enough for CBT. I wear them for class but they weren't strong enough for my training this summer.

The mentioned Belleville C320s are, in my opinion, better than the Garmonts. I've worn both styles of Garmonts, Nikes, Oakleys, etc (tough feet). The Belleville ones are the best for a hybrid of the field and garrison.

Best thing to do is go to a store and try multiple pairs on. If you can get on base and go to the exchange DO IT! Every boot is different and so is every foot. Find out what you like and THEN order it on amazon for cheaper. Good luck!

DS tried this on but said the tongue part above the ankle hurts his foot. He liked the Garmont Falcon. He wanted to try Garmont Bifida but they didn't have his size when we went to Travis AFB AAFES. So far in the Garmonts, his boots size is same as his running shoes size with brands Asics and Hokka. We will order the Bifida from the Cadet Store mail-order now that we have an idea of his boot size.

Also, this is the official website of Garmont, www.garmontnorthamerica.com

There may be old/fakes/overpriced items being sold/resold on Amazon. Please be careful and buy only from known sellers (hopefully those with >100 verified buyer reviews).

Hi
Please see this. I saved this from some other thread. Many have suggested Garmont as a best option
Thank you for this. We ordered the Bifida from the Cadet Store. Their boots price is cheaper, though the shipping price is shocking. I got used to Amazon Prime shipping.

We also got a tip from an airman who was buying boots. He recommended whatever boots you end up buying, to apply with waterproofing spray at least six times before wearing it to break-in.

I saw an YouTube video that a Plebe was wearing Nike.
How about NIKE SFB Gen 2?

Does anyone know, can i get the Garmont boots at the Cadet Store in person or only from the Plebe order catalog?

We ordered from Amazon and they were the brand new real deal. If you order from Amazon, make sure you scrutinize the Seller.

I have the same question, I have an overnight visit scheduled soon and was hoping to purchase them there.

Nikes are great for garrison life. Less great for running around in the woods with a ruck as they have very little ankle support. Mine never go into the field with me. I do really like my Belleville’s though. I’ve had a couple different pairs through them and they provide great support and last forever
