I thought this was a little interesting, so I'm posting it, with the link I found it from. It's from the Census Bureau regarding the numbers of active duty military in the United States. It's from 2003, but I couldn't find a more updated report...can it change THAT much?
Active Duty Numbers:
Total US Armed Forces: 1,400,000
United States Army: 487,000
United States Navy: 385,000
United States Air Force: 368,000
United States Marine Corps: 174,000
United States Coast Guard: 38,000
Ready Reserve and National Guard: 1,300,000
