C/O 2028 Wait List: The Wait Listed Bunch

So from my knowledge, appointments coming from the waitlist are either a solid yes or no… depending on the amount of accepted appointments (1170).

I hate to try to play the whole statistics game, but curious to see how many on average decline their appointment each year and give spots to the waitlist. Only admissions knows that I guess.

I think in years past those on the USNA waitlist (as opposed to NAPS waitlist) have also gotten Foundation offers.

Where did you see how many people have been accepted?

USNA aims to have a class of 1170. Over the past 3 years, it seems that is around the average.

Not sure how many appointments have been out as of right now, but yea.

So chances of getting an appointment out of the waitlist are slim?
Nope. Remember, inbetween now to I-day, a lot of things can happen to a slot at Annapolis. If you've been WL, focus on your Plan Bs. That has always been the recommendation. If Annapolis delivers, congrats! If they don't, you're already prepared for it.

Go check out the last two years of waitlist threads. It seemed that quite a few came off for class of ‘26, maybe not as many last year. Each year is so different. Being on the waitlist is a challenge in patience, grace and positivity. You the applicant and you the parent may have moments of frustration or of hope. I don’t wish the waitlist on anyone. Been there, done that. DD walked away with an appointment, SAF friend’s DD walked away with Foundation, others walked away with a TWE. There is no way to know your chances, you just have to wait. I’m here for any one of you who wants to talk about it .
