Hi all,

I leave for NAPS next Saturday (eek!) and I've been spending a lot of time preparing myself physically. I understand that I should be in great shape and able-bodied enough to pass the PRT. With that being said, I wanted to pop this question: what exactly are cadence push-ups? Is it self-explanatory, where an individual must execute push-ups to a cadence and stay with the cadence at all times? Or must they execute as many push-ups as possible within a time span?

Just wanted to ask so I know how to properly train. Thanks!

You can search YouTube for Navy Cadence Pushup-lots of information there. Also see this: https://www.usna.edu/AthleticDirect...THINST_6110.2C_CH-1.pdf#search=cadence pushup

To answer your question, it’s both. The cadence is one second down and hold, one second up and hold. The test last two minutes, so the maximum you could get is 60 push ups. The Fleet is still on regular push-ups (as many as possible in two minutes). The plank is in the Fleet, though.
