I have a TI-Nspire CAS CXII and I was wondering if this will be allowed for swab summer. Im not sure if it is because it has extra features a regular scientific calculator doesnt have

You must bring the one that they say on the packing list. Every swab will take a math assessment test during swab summer. It would be terrible if you cannot use yours during the test.

I see your confusion, as the one they suggest Casio Scientific FX-115MS is no longer available. Perhaps email them to ask?

We sent our daughter with the Casio FX115ESPLUS Scientific Calculator (which I think is the closest available to what they suggest) and it was fine. I don't think you can have one with extra features.

This is what I received when I emailed Mr. McMunn:

>>>In general, calculators are not used in Swab Summer Math or the math placement exams. Many students have TI-84’s for classes during the school year, but most early math courses have no (or minimal) calculator usage on exams and we don’t use calculators in our curriculum for solving integrals and derivatives. A calculator is crucial for Chemistry and Physics courses – they should know how to use scientific notation. They also need a calculator for the Chemistry placement exam which happens during Swab Summer and the most important things are it's a scientific calculator that they are comfortable using. Graphing is required for Chemistry during the school year, although not for the placement exam.<<<

Based on that, I'm guessing your calculator is fine as long as you make sure it has new batteries since you won't be able to get some if you need them during Swab Summer.
