I heard that Senator Butler of California isn’t offering nominations. Is that true? If so, does another senator provide twice the nominations?

Each Senator and Representative follows the law.

They can nominate up to a certain amount per slot they have. They can choose not to nominate any.

They don’t give it to someone else.

Her website indicates she has already received too many applicants:

Where did you hear that from? The office received the applications and had interviews with some applicants.
I believe you got wrong information.

Senator Butler’s Office had a deadline of 9/15. We had our interviews done this past weekend. Senator Padilla does not provide twice the Nom and has a deadline of 10/31. Good luck.

Always check their primary source info. If you check their website, their deadline has passed. Therefore, you missed the deadline. It’s not that they aren’t accepting applications. You missed the deadline.

For general readership, first deadlines for a cycle are *usually* Senator and congressional deadlines.

How did it go? What is typical timeline to announce nominees anyone knows?

MOCs can manage their process any way they wish as long as they submit their nom slates to the SAs in a timely manner, including info requested, their deadlines, interviews/no interviews. Some may call, some may send some type of correspondence, some may not make personal notifications. Some get it done before the holidays. Some skid under the wire in January.

The candidate might find themselves routinely looking at their portal and realize a nom block is checked, with the type, at which point they can permit themselves a loud yell and a leap out of their chair for a happy dance.

Pro tip: Answer your phone calls. If you don’t have one, activate your phone voice mailbox and create a professional greeting.

DS received an e-mail notifying him he was not chosen for Senator Butlers nomination, so her office is definitely going through the process. The letter stated they received over 300 " incredibly qualified" candidates.

The result already came out? May I ask if your DS had an interview?
