Can SLE CFA Be Sent To Other Academies?

My son completed the CFA at SLE. He was going to do the CFA again during the school year to try and improve his score as well as send to USNA/USAFA but he just dislocated his shoulder during a soccer game. He's now in a terrible position that he needs to get surgery, hope he can get a medical waiver and cannot do the CFA again before the end of the year. Is it possible to have West Point send the SLE CFA to other academies and if so what is the process?

Thank you for any help!

It is possible and rather common, but I forgot the process. I reccomend DS reach out to USNA/USAFA admissions, explain his situation, and seek guidance.

Browse the USMA forum thread titles. There have been discussions in the last month or so about sharing scores among academies, the “how to.” It seems it’s usually a matter of the candidate requesting 1 SA to send it to another, and providing appropriate destination candidate number.

Alternately, if you have had no success with SAF Search tool, do an external Google search using this string, no space after “site”:

site.www.serviceacademyforums.com sending sharing CFA results to USNA USMA USAFA USMMA

Thank you for the reply. The searches seem to indicate reaching out to an admissions counselor for USMA to request the send (I could not find any posts more recent than 2019). My son's application portal does not indicate a specific point of contact other than the Field Force Representative. He has sent an email via the application portal to the admissions team. Do you know if that sounds like the correct procedure?

Appreciate the help!

Has your son considered exercising his live professional phone communications skills and just calling Admissions where the CFA file likely digitally resides?

:) Yes, that's the next step. He just met with the surgeon for the first time yesterday and is understandably depressed as he was on a good track having completed his applications, recommendations, etc.

If I remember correctly, some scores can be transferrable, but it depends on which academy you are sending your scores to/from. For example, West Point's CFA has required videos for push-ups and pull-ups, thus transferring scores from USNA to WP would nearly be impossible since USNA does not require videos. Make sure to go to each academy's website and look into their CFA instructions. Hope your DS gets better!

Just as a follow up, this was a USMA SLE CFA (so USMA which has the most restrictive requirements for filming were already satisfied) and the West Point Admissions office did reply to my son's email request indicating they sent the CFA scores to USNA/USAFA. When he sent the request, he included his candidate numbers for USNA/USAFA. The response just occurred so he's waiting to confirm they populate in his other academy applications. Appreciate the help!

The appropriate contact for requesting CFA scores to be sent to another SA is your RC.

As mentioned above some SA's may have different requirements, such as the required USMA video, so I recommend contacting the other SA to see if they accept the USMA CFA. This only became an issue in recent years. Before that the SA's all accepted each others tests.

My don did the reverse...sent his CFA from another SA to WP. He contacted the admissions officer at the other SA who sent the results in about a week after he inserted her name into the portal.

The major difference with West Point is the videos, as others have pointed out. My son did the CFA for USMA / West Point first then sent results to other service academies. It was a very fast process, as I remember, for USMA CFA to be transmitted to other academies upon request. Because of the videos some other candidates (with previous CFAs for other SAs) said they had to re-test on the pull-ups and pushups to obtain video for USMA. If you do have to retest on video you usually do not to complete the whole CFA again, just the portions requiring video segments.
