Good morning, I'm currently a candidate for USNA c/o 2023.

I have received both the Presidential and Congressional Nominations, my CFA scores are above average, and I am a varsity team captain. The only room for improvement is my academics, I have a 3.9 unweighted GPA and a 1290 SAT score.

Another thing, my application portal still says CPR: Complete Medical Qualification Exam. My medical exams were completed in January and still have no updated. However, my admissions counselor assured me that the portal takes time to update.

Thank you all, and good luck to the rest of my fellow candidates out there waiting!

Everyone will know their status by April 15th. If you have not received a TWE (declined notice) then you are still in the game. The only folks that know your status are in admissions and they will et you know by April 15th at the latest.

Question:
My son's portal says this:

MEDICAL STATUS

"If any illness, surgery, or injury has occurred since the time of your initial DODMERB medical examination, send details and substantiating doctor's statement to nomapps@usna.edu.

For information regarding your medical exam or status please visit the DODMERB website."

He received a letter from DODMERB stating that he is medically cleared. Wonder why it doesn't simply say that in his portal.

Any thoughts?

Sounds like he’s good to go as far as Medical...that letter you got ensures that.
Updating the portal from DodMerb to USNA can take time.
My DS’s portal took a while as well. We finally called DodMerb about it and they cleared it up within hours. I’m not saying you need to do that, but it might give you peace of mind.
Good luck, hang in there.

Thanks. It's been that way since January. That's a long time.

My DS's portal has said that same thing since he completed his physicals in Nov. He required no waiver and when he sat down in person with USNA admissions, they told him they didn't need anything additional.

Thanks. I just confirmed the same info. How did your son find the occasion to sit down with admissions?

We flew him up there and scheduled a brief sit down with his admissions coordinator.

Have DS email his admissions officer and ask what is going on. He will then know. Much simpler than asking us on the forum. We can only speculate. His admissions counselor will know.

Before everyone starts asking the question or making plane reservations.... visiting USNA and talking to Admissions in person doesn't give you any advantage in the Admissions process.
Yes sorry I should have been more clear. We had another reason to be in that area. It gave him no advantage.
