6 week exams are being done now and I hear about plebes being unsat....what does that mean and if the plebe is a varsity athlete, does that mean they are ineligible to play sports as well? Thanks for the help!

Well, apparently no one wants to talk about this subject

I was told by a friend, who is the mom of a youngster, that "unsat" for a Plebe where academics are concerned means a "D" in any one class. All she told me regarding the loss of privilege was that the "unsat" Plebe would lose weekends. I assume she meant weekend liberty. I thought they would also lose ECs, but I'm not sure where I got that idea. I did not ask her specifically about varsity sports, because my kid isn't a varsity athlete.

Well, Magik's Mom: We need a mid to tell us! I heard that it was two D's to be unsat. One F.

There's also the "official unsat" according to regs, either in academics, physical education, body fat/weight standards, military performance and others - and there may be the informal standards set by a specific company for their plebes and upperclass, which vary across the 30 companies. Plebes may have to meet a higher in-company standard to rate certain privileges. No matter what, being unsat is not a good place to be...:frown: But - it's not an unusual or an unrecoverable place to be for plebes!

I believe it is a D for academics and other graded courses, but I defer to current mids.

Varsity athletes may not be allowed to travel if officially unsat - but we don't have any unsat mids in our sponsor family at the moment, so I'm going off prior experience.

UNSAT is 2 D's, 1 F or a cumulative QPR rating under 2.0 for upper class. For plebes, its just 1 D because their academics are so much easier than everyone else's. I believe thats just for 6 and twelve weeks though, not semester. Luckily I've never been unsat though so I'm not an expert.

As far as restrictions for unsats, they rate the liberty policy of the class below them which for a plebe is still just plebe liberty, they don't rate weekends, and they also have to do actracking which is basically a log of studying. I think they should still be able to play with the team though they might not be allowed to travel if they don't get significant playing time.
