Can you be accepted to two conflicting Summer Seminars?

Hi everyone,

I just registered because I've used this site as an observer for a while and it's great! I figured I should finally just register and ask this question: If I plan on applying to more than one seminar, should I be concerned with a conflict of schedules with, say, naval and air force? I should be so lucky to be accepted to either but hypothetically speaking, could this occur? Thanks

I know that there are separate weeks (A, B, etc.), but could it happen anyway?, and if it did what would I do?

Yes, and it happened with my son. USAFA moved him to one of the other weeks to accomodate him. I don't think they like doing that.

It is possible, just look at the schedules when you apply and try to plan around that. At this year's summer seminar there were several people who went straight from the AFA summer seminar to Navy/Army, as well as some people who went to all three, one right after the other!

If you get accepted to one, select the latest possible week. For example week 3 is always the most desirable at USAFA becuase it conflicts with less school activities, final exams, etc and thus fills up first. If you choose week 3 it will be much easier to move to week 1 or 2. It will be almost impossible to switch an earlier week to a later week.

My general impression so far - after having attended USAFA summer seminar, going to interviews and being involved in this process for the last year or so is that the academies like each other a lot less than I thought they would. I am sure that some more experienced people will comment but my first thought is not to tell one academy you can't make thier program because you need to attend one at another academy. They want to believe that they are your first choice and you will definetly attend if accepted.

I have heard that USAFA will be offering only 2 summer seminars this year
