Candidate Activities Record - character count

Question from my son (who reads this forum but doesn't post) - does the 10,000 character max include the USAFA instructions (ex. "describe all leadership positions you have held and extracurricular activities you were involved in to include athletic activities") or just the text inserted by the candidate? He's on the cusp and wants to be sure nothing gets cut off upon submission. He's under the character limit without the USAFA text, but with the text, his character count is over the limit.

As I recall, it was total character count in the input cell (including any text pre-populated by USAFA).

No problem, the guidance I provided my son was more is not necessarily better - don't fluff up the resume just to fill the 10k characters, but make sure every item listed helps build your case for admission to USAFA.
