So it begins! I'm excited for the process, good luck to your sonCandidate Kits are open and available for the Class of 2028. He didn't receive an email but when my DS went into the portal it was available.
Once he is done with the candidate kit, there will be a checklist in the portal. My older son applied with the other portal, which had a running checklist. Looking on this salesforce portal, do items move to the checklist when they are completed? Is there no easy to see list of items that have or have not been done, like on the old portal? Hopefully that makes sense.
Question for clarification: do all these items need to be completed by the November 1 deadline? (CFA, DoDMERB, evaluation, etc) Or does the kit need to be completed by November 1?July 15 is the date ... and my students have started to complete the Candidate Kit. All students should note the due date is November 1 (if you open the kit now or shortly) to complete the kit so get things rolling as soon as you can!
When you complete the kit, four important items are initiated:
Good luck to all!
- The person designated to administer your Candidate Fitness Assessment (CFA) will receive an email noting the URL to use to record your scores.
- The AFA will request that the Department of Defense Medical Examination Review Board (DoDMERB) initiate the medical examination process for you.
- Your Evaluator Air Force Liaison Officer (ALO) will be assigned and listed on your candidate portal.
- The person designated to submit your transcript (or transcripts, in the case of a college student) will be notified via email.
- Plus, the AFA application checklist will be displayed showing your progress with all key application steps.
The kit needs to be complete, essentially the stuff within your control. Having said that, as CFA, DoDMERB, etc become available, schedule and do them in a timely manner. Something always comes up if you wait.Question for clarification: do all these items need to be completed by the November 1 deadline? (CFA, DoDMERB, evaluation, etc) Or does the kit need to be completed by November 1?
I was wondering this too, but since my ALO has not responded for weeks, I asked Admissions and they said to email them again if my ALO doesn't respond by the end of the month, so I'm assuming we have longer time for the ALO interview. Apparently a lot of other ppl are also having trouble contacting their ALOs and whatnot. Mine hasn't responded for ~3 weeks now.Does the ALO interview need to be completed by 11/1 too or is the ALO is assigned as long as the other items are submitted by 11/1?
Thank you!No, the Candidate Kit due date of November 1 (or other later dates) does not require that you complete the interview by that date. The expectation is that you will receive the ALO's name and then you should reach out to your her/him in a timely manner. If you do not receive a response, then you resend a 2nd email to follow-up. A large number of students have the November 1 due date, and unfortunately, many are just turning it in at the deadline. My assumption is that the ALO force is seeing lots of interview assignments so be patient. As noted, if you don't 'hear' something, then let Admissions know. You may receive a new E-ALO if necessary. Hang in there!
