My DS has an appointment but hasn’t visited. Is there a way to schedule a candidate visit prior to accepting deadline?

I’m in the same boat, and I was also wondering the same thing. But I was looking at the invitation and it also includes conditional appointments, (individuals who will be given an appointment after some criteria is filled), so I assumed that you don’t have to accept first? Also I noticed all the dates were before May 1st, but I’m not 100% sure on that.

Is there an invitation? Where is it? I need to look!

If you got an appointment, you should’ve received an email inviting you to visit. I attached what my email looked like below

They usually send out Candidate Visit Invites if you are subscribed to the USNA mailing list (on their official website). If you were appointed, I think the best thing would be to contact your BGO and request that they set up a visit. CVW is for all candidates: I went last year as a junior, and saw lots of appointed seniors (decided or not).

Does anyone know if this was only sent out to people with full appointments or has anyone with a conditional appointment received this?

We didn’t get one
I’d have your son contact his AO asap! It sounds like there are specific events for appointees, but worst case you can sign up for one of the admissions briefs/tours prior to May 1, or schedule meeting with AO and self tour.

We are all the way across the country so was hoping for something more than the daily tour.

Many attend before they accept. Some decide to accept while there and your AO can arrange for a photo op. If you cannot make one of the official accepted student days, you can still reach out to the AO/coach/Dept Head for the major.

The Academy Experience program is an overnight program for those that have received appointments. They are usually offered in the feb-april time frame a few times before the acceptance deadline.
