I have an overnight visit scheduled for March 16/17 and have a few questions.
Most importantly, the 16th is founders day. Will my visit be different than usual due to Founder's Day celebrations? How can I plan for that?
Also, what should I wear? I saw a thread earlier about what boys usually wear on their visits, but no specific advice for the ladies.

Very excited to see West Point! Any advice for a first-time visitor would be appreciated!

I just got back from the Naval Academy’s CVW. Some kids wore a shirt and tie and others just wore a T-shirt and jeans. Either is appropriate. As for founders day, your visit should be pretty standard. If your cadet has to attend something you will either follow him or you will be placed with another cadet. But the best thing you can do is read all the information given to you and follow it to a T.

For Founder's Day we are scheduled to have a dinner in (I assume) Full Dress. Bring semi-formal attire for that, but otherwise what you wear doesn't really matter so long as you present yourself well.

Here's a list I passed along earlier to another student for CVW at USNA. The list has been collected from my students and others on the forum and applies quite well to your visit too:

1. Bring something to read, homework or similar, as you will want to allow 'your' Plebe to study during the designated evening hours.
2. Dress conservatively as to not stand out. Avoid clothing with logos or bright colors. The lady's equivalent of 'khakis and a collared shirt' are ideal for the arrival and for class visits. You should have good walking shoes to walk quickly across the campus. Don't wear any NAVY (ARMY) gear! It will help your Plebe avoid any 'special' attention.
3. Pack some gym clothes, swimsuit, weather gear, and clothes to layer as you will be in classrooms and outdoors too.
4. Bring a positive outlook, have fun, ask questions and make a good impression.
5. Past attendees have recommended bringing some snacks to share with your hosts and other Plebes.

I hope you have a great time!

Doubling down on this point. At a minimum, bring slacks and a collared shirt if you are going to be there for the Founders Day dinner. This is not an appropriate event/dinner at the Academy to be wearing jeans and a T-shirt. Some candidates may do that, but don't be that person.
