Hey ya'll! I'm currently reapplying to West Point, and have questions about the candidate activities record.

What qualifies for special recognition under the athletic activities section? Does this mean exposure at the conference level (i.e. conference player of the year) or being all-district for the sport? I have multiple awards, including the Medallion award for academics, the grit and perseverance award, and multiple scholar athlete awards, however, I do not know if these qualify under special-recognition although they are some of the highest levels of achievements within our school's sports programs.

Also, what awards are considered scholastic awards?

I have the previously stated awards from my sport, but also multiple academic awards. Such as the community service award, specific class awards, and an award given for my "outstanding" work ethic. Would these be considered scholastic awards?

To my understanding you are correct. The conference-level awards plus any given out by your school related to your athletic ability fall under special recognition. I believe all the awards you mentioned for scholastic awards such as community service awards and specific class awards fall under this category. At least I hope so because that is what I did.
