Hi everyone, I just took my CFA recently and I was going to give my administrator and her assistants gift cards as a way of saying thank you for all their help. However, they didn't want to accept them... Did I do something wrong? Should I send an email say that I didn't mean it as a way to bribe them? They said to give the gift cards to a few veterans, which I plan on doing, but would it be a good idea if I send them a card to say thank you instead? I don't want to seem like I'm trying to force something on them, but I want to make sure they know how grateful I am for all their help.

A hand-written note is always appreciated and shows thoughtfulness and extra work, or a card or, these days, a well-written email. Military people don’t expect gifts for doing what is part of the job; appreciation well-expressed is sufficient. Ethics rules come into play as well.

Your thought is good, just needs a different mode of expression.

In your thank you letter, tell them where you donated the gift to.

Also - maybe send a letter to a supervisor (principal, athletic director, superintendent?) expressing your appreciation for them.

Alright, will do! Thank you!

Yep, I sent a letter, a gift card, and a plate of cookies to all the people who wrote me recommendation letters and supported me throughout my application process.
I'll be sure to let the CFA administrators know who received the gift cards. Thank you for your advice!

When I administer a CFA, I tell the candidate the only thanks I want is 10 extra pushups, etc! 😀

Good for you to think of showing appreciation!
