Sorry to post again - I have lots of questions this year!

So, again, I am a third-time applicant to USNA and have some trouble with my process this year. I have received an extension on the CFA due to needing a surgery on my foot in order to be able to run on it. My new CFA date is in early March and I am worried about the chances of acceptance decreasing with the late completion of the application. Unfortunately, I have had this problem with running for numerous months now so there was really no way for me to take it any sooner. With the completion of the CFA late, will my chances largely decline in getting an offer of appointment or is it possible they do not review my slate until it is fully completed? I received advice yesterday on another post about the review board possibly waiting to review my slate if I'm competitive enough; however, there is no way to really know where I stand in regards to other applicants.

I would think if they extended you the courtesy of retaking the CFA they will still give you a fair chance to be appointed. Set up a plan to train to maximize the time you got.

where are you located? if you were close i would help you train to maximize the time you have.

Are you medically qualified with this upcoming surgery?
Agreed, I think this is the larger question, because you need to have time to heal and then get everything checked out. Depending on the recovery time, this may actually be your biggest concern at this point.

As far as I know, I should be. The doctor performing my exam said that since the surgery is so small it should pass without a waiver. However, with DODMERB I guess it's hard to know. As far as I am concerned right now, I should be cleared without a waiver. If I do need one, my NROTC unit staff said they'd work me through it ASAP

I am in pennsylvania. Right now I am trying to maximize strength and cardio training so when I am back I can hopefully pass the run (as it is not my strong point)

I would discuss with @MullenLE.

The surgery is large enough to allow you to be able to run.

I hope you are right. Best of luck.
