The instructions for the push ups say that the candidate can't lift a hand or foot. Can they readjust hands without lifting them up? Thanks

I don’t see why the candidate couldn’t slide their hands to readjust their form.

As long as they don’t do anything too "funky" or out of the ordinary, I wouldn’t worry. Don’t overthink pushups, honestly.

Actually, this is inappropriate advice as the guidelines for pushups are quite clear and straightforward and prohibit movement of the hands (sliding). This video outlines exactly that's permissible for resting during the pushup portion.

+1 for bringing us to the primary source, and that excellent “don’t be guessing on what’s allowable, we are telling and showing you right here” video.

Mods - similar to DODMERB having its own sub-forum as one of the “qual pillars” of admission, has it been discussed to have a CFA sub-forum, as a similar common qual? This video, as a current USMA reference, would be an excellent Sticky.

The CFA certainly comes up enough.
