CFA question/Athlete Admissions Officer question

My daughter was able to attain the max score in 4 of 6 events. Will that help her chances? She narrowly missed the mile and was trying to see if redoing it to max on 5 would even matter. Her video was approved and she "passed" ...

This is all new to us as she is our first going through the process and unsure how much weight is even given for the CFA. She is a 3 sport varsity athlete, has a 31 ACT score and has an unweighted 3.7 GPA.

She also told me that her admissions officers is listed as Athlete Admissions Officer. Does everyone get an athlete admissions officer?
 
I assume your daughter is a recruited athlete. My student, who is a USMA recruited athlete, also was assigned Capt Santhanam. My other students are assigned by their region. Your daughter's CFA score is quite good if she maxed four of the events and the fifth was quite close. I assume the last one was close to the average. If so, I would not recommend repeating the CFA. She is in great shape, physically and for the appointment! Best of luck!
 
We were told repeatedly at SLE that if you passed you shouldn't retake, especially in your daughter's case (four events maxed and two events well above average). Only 10% of the Whole Candidate Score (WCS) is based on athletics, and the CFA only a small part of that. With such a good score, improving it won't help her admissions chances.
 
If you pass and do well there is no advantage to taking it again. So, focus instead on securing a nomination and submitting an excellent packet with an emphasis on the other pillars like leadership and grades/test scores.

Do they only get Capt Santhanam if they are a recruited athlete? Thanks!
 
Thank you! It's all new to us with the process. I knew she had spoken to a coach but was unsure if that mattered.
