Okay, so I think everyone has asked similar questions already, but I just wanted to get thoughts/opinions from others. I took the CFA first on the 19, and I failed the basketball throw at 39 feet. After practice, when I retook on Feb 2, I got up to 49 feet. The rest of my scores from this past Sunday are below:
11 Pull ups
10.4 Shuttle run
75 situps
54 pushups
7:54 mile run
All of these are around average, but I should pass the rest. Does anyone know if I would be able to retake if 49 feet is not enough, or if that would be enough to pass? I have a nom, I completed the rest of my file in October, and I am medically qualified. I also have a 31 ACT.

I was at SLE last June and got 48 ft on the throw. One of my squadmates got 51 ft. When the score emails came out, he passed the b-ball throw and I didn't, so I believe that the the minimum passing distance is probably either 49, 50, or 51 ft for males.

You will have to check if you are allowed to have another chance if you have submitted results once. My region is case by case for that

okay, do you know if they would let me retake it after my deadline (Feb 2)?

If the BBall throw is passing, it would surprise me if the overall score would be a passing score. Frankly, both the mile and the shuttle seem pretty slow and you didn’t exactly crush it on the pushups, sit-ups, or pull ups. The pull ups by themselves look ok, but you cannot look at each event as if it is not also tied to the overall score.

No. I don’t think you will be allowed to submit additional material. You can ask.

49 feet. - fail
11 Pull ups- pass
10.4 Shuttle run- borderline
75 situps- pass
54 pushups - fail
7:54 mile run - fail
Just one person's opinion. You will struggle if you get in with the physical fitness. Why did you wait so late in the game to take the CFA?

I think the push-up number of 54 is well above the minimum to pass, I think the passing number is 30 push-ups.. 54 is the average.

You were able to retake the CFA the same day (February 2nd) that the candidate file was due to be complete? I think the bigger issue is that your pull ups and push ups videos also need to be reviewed/approved and I'd be surprised if this occurred all within the same day...

I have proctored many CFA's and these scores are not passing! When scoring a CFA you look at all of the events and score a pass/fail. I believe @ThePatternisFull was just showing where the failing scores were. With respect to average in the push-ups with the other scores this is not a passing CFA. IMHO. If the poster is looking at the averages and scoring below in several of the areas, they will struggle at an academy. Two years ago a candidate from our parents club was a Varsity XC runner and a top athlete at his HS (small rural school). Scored below the averages on his CFA except for the mile run. He was unable to keep up with the other plebes during plebe summer. He went to Tango Company after two days. I agree with Pattern as a score FAIL!

I thought 54 pushups is the average?
No excuses, I just waited too long.

54 pushups is passing for pushups. Some of your other scores are questionable. If the academy ultimately chooses not to take you due to your CFA scores, don’t lose hope! This could be a lesson on getting things done early.

Please do not feel like you have to justify anything. Senior year is a tough year with A LOT of demands. I admire your effort! If these scores are not passing you will know soon. Just keep looking forward and don't give up! I'm rooting for you!
thank you!
