I have my retake tomorrow and im unsure as to what the passing scores would be. In my first attempt, I was able to achieve:

-53ft bb throw
-10 pullups
-8.9 shuttle
-95 (max) situps
-67 pushups
-8:51 mile

I'm pretty sure that my mile killed me. I had a good routine going for my retake, however California went into purple lockdown which shut down the gyms again. I just did another mile and got an 8:12. I have met and seen people who had passed the CFA with significantly worse scores than me and I have no idea what they're looking for after seeing significantly worse scores that I've seen from other people.

It's definitely the mile. Everything else looks great (basketball throw could use some progress but that's not really a problem as long as it's over 50 ft). In my opinion, mile MUST be under 8:00, probably even 7:45, for them to even consider passing you.

This is simply a bad mindset. Your goal should not be to just barely pass. If it is, USAFA isn’t for you. Your mile is most certainly what caused you to fail. If you use your time wisely in the next few weeks you should be able to shave quite a bit off that time. I went from running a 9 minute mile to a 6:45 mile in 3 weeks by running intervals combined with long runs. You most certainly can do it, and again, your goal should be to blow everyone else out of the water with your scores. Good luck

Of course my goal has been to blow USAFA admissions out of the water. I actually blew myself out of the water with these scores and I learned that the mind is a powerful thing once you commit your mind to something. I was just stating near the end of my thread that I've known people who had significantly worse scores than me who passed. The 1st of December is my CFA retake deadline and I was unable to train because I had strained my Achilles from running. I had just recovered and am hoping that my progress from this past week allows me to finally pass the dreadful CFA. Thanks for your response!

Check out the thread on the basketball throw on these forums. The mile run was probably what killed you though, I would work on pacing and get a couple interval workouts in, but take the two days before the test easier.
Good luck

I am sure you are anxious about this retake and it is less than 24 hours away. Make sure you get plenty of rest and sleep tonight.

I cannot tell you what the passing scores are. The pushups and situps are solid. The shuttle run is a little off, but better than my Doolie son. Pullups a little on the weak side. See if you can't squeeze out two more. Basketball throw is weak. Do your best and hope for the best. But as others have said, your mile run is likely the killer at 2.5 minutes slower than goal. Hopefully your achilles has healed and you can run your butt off. When you run you have to give it everything you have got. If you puke at the end, there is no shame in that. Run as hard as you can.

Good luck!
