CFA scoring questions

DS is preparing to take the CFA. We have all the information from the West Point website that list all of the maximum performance scores and the instructions for each event.
Here’s the information that is not so clear to us
1. Is there a way to find out what your score would be (a score calculator?) based on the results of each event?
2. Is each event waited equally for your total score?
DS can easily max the mile run and the push ups but may not max the bball throw (though all of the advice on these forums, have been very helpful with this!)
He would like to do a practice cFA and figure out what his score would be.
Thanks!

There are a couple of calculators online. Occasionally candidates share their purported scores here. But those calculators are not sponsored, presented or endorsed by the SAs. So the point systems may or may not be accurate. Use them at your own risk.

There is not a publicly available tool that can affirmatively share the actual score a candidate gets on the CFA. The Academy shares the maximums and I believe the generally accepted minimums are out there as well. What is important to remember is a candidate has to achieve a minimum score of 60 on each event but a 360 total score is not a passing score for the CFA. Each event has a maximum score of 100 points.

Thanks for the information after doing a lot of Internet searching we kind of came to the conclusion that there’s nothing out there for public use that can be used to score the CFA accurately. Of course, he will try to get the maximum in all of the events and we figure if he aims for that his overall score will end up pretty good. Just on another note the tips from these forums on how to improve the score on the basketball throw have been extremely helpful! I have a very athletic kid, but he’s not a baseball pitcher or a football quarterback he’s a competitive runner, so his first attempts at the basketball throw weren’t so great. It’s amazing how much proper technique makes a difference!

The key to success with the basketball throw is technique coupled with repetition. When my son started the process, we took video of some of his initial throws. And then as he trained we would take videos to see how his technique improved. That gave him a chance to see what he was doing well or poorly in his mechanics.

For the record, none of these CFA calculators are endorsed by the Academies. They are helpful but not necessarily completely accurate. Frankly, I hate to see people pay for these tools when there is enough information on the internet about performance expectations (max, min and average raw scores) to help with training.

Where can I find the generally accepted minimums? I looked it up online but could only find the averages and maximums.

Honestly, I cannot recall where I might have seen the minimums. As a practical point, if you are training for the CFA, you should not concern yourself with what the minimum scores would be. If you use the averages as your baseline target for performance and training, you will be much better served in preparing for the CFA. Training to meet the minimums will not set you up for success in the admissions process.

There have been seemingly endless numbers of threads here on SAF where candidates list their CFA performance and if USMA failed them or not along with many discussions of scores that people reported have passed or failed with.
