Hey,
I received a letter of assurance back in November but it was revoked on grounds that i failed my CFA. Does this mean I have no chance of being accepted or have I already been basically denied??
Thanks for any help on the matter

In order to receive an appointment it is required that you pass your CFA. It is generally important to take this early senior year or so so that if you do fail it the first time, you have the option to try and try again. However, it is well past the deadline for applications to the Merchant Marine Academy and you won't be able to receive an appointment unless you apply next year and pass your CFA. It's one of those things all service academies require everyone pass before being granted an appointment.

Contact your admissions officer tomorrow for a clarification however the previous is probably accurate.
