CFA Video retake

My Regional Commander had emailed me asking for a new pushups video within the next 2 weeks due to lack of depth. In his instructions he had instructed to do so within 2 weeks.

This email was received around midnight but the next day when I attempted I was sore and only had 42 with proper form as opposed to the 46 that I had from my test. I know that I can hit 46 or more with pure form when fresh but still I am still taking this week to get better and practice with pure form.

I was wondering, out of curiosity, if I receive a higher amount of pushups will that further improve my overall CFA score? I've been told that my score is currently passing but the pushups were invalid due to the improper form.

Also, If I was to receive a less amount of pushups on the video that I turn in and my CFA score is no longer passing, would they ask for a rerecording or mark the CFA as a fail?

I am very confident that I can hit the needed benchmark but can't help but wonder.

First of all, it is a good sign that you were asked to submit a new pushup video. If you were not competitive I doubt the RC would bother with having you redo the pushups. You should be able to get a decent score since you are only doing push-ups and not the entire CFA. Finally, the CFA is a very small part of your package, and so long as passing, is not likely to make or break your chance of appointment. At a recent forum, the RC said not to stress on the CFA but just get it done since it is such a minor portion of the application.
