CFA

It is important to recognize that USNA does NOT superscore the CFA. If you are unhappy with your scores, you contact your RD who "zeros out" your scores. Your new CFA replaces the old one, for better or worse. Given that it's already December, you probably aren't going to do significantly better between now and Jan. 31. This, BTW, is one of the reasons candidates should do their CFAs early in the process -- if the scores aren't great, there will be plenty of time (more than 6 months from June) to improve. Now, not so much.

At this point, unless there was some snafu during the test (you were sick, you tripped and fell during one of the running exercises, it was snowing or raining heavily, etc.), retaking probably won't result in a major improvement and the new scores could end up being worse. But, as noted, you are free to retake the test between now and Jan. 31.

I slightly disagree. It is a large benefit to get started early, but from my own experience, scores can increase significantly in just one month of dedicated training as long as you already have reasonable base fitness from sports.

Perhaps. They can certainly increase more with eight months of dedicated training.
