Hi Everyone!

Just took my CFA today and was hoping to get some feedback.

Basketball Throw: 63 ft
Pullups: 12
Sprints: 7.8
Situps: 95
Pushups: 74
Mile: 7:30

I realize the mile time isn't great and the time was slowest mile I've ran in a long time. I totally underestimated how hard the CFA really is. Do you think the scores are still competitive enough to send?

what do you mean by good enough to send? is your proctor waiting for you to decide on that, or was that a practice run?
According to this site which someone recently posted, that overall score is very good. Obviously, pushups, sit-ups, sprint (was that time real?!) are all very good. Basketball throw and pull-ups are solid. Mile not great but probably not disqualifying. that's the one I'd work on the most, and the basketball throw can definitely be improved with a couple of weeks of practice.

That website is full of incorrect information, so I would caution about taking what's on there as law. With the CFA, what most candidates don't understand is that while your score matters, the number you get credit for after video review is what really matters. For example, very few candidates who say they do 70+ push-ups get credit for that many with a large percentage getting their video rejected for poor form. How many you actually do correctly in the video is what determines your CFA score for 2 of the 6 events.

Solid CFA man, I messed up a little on my mile as well (6:50), but I say get a sub 7 with those other scores and you will be fine.

Looks like a passing score as long as your pushup and pull up form was good and you don’t get dinged too badly :)

Yes if your form is bad, that’s obviously an issue.
But that cfa calculator seemed very consistent with what people have posted of their CFA scores from SLE. If SLE results are accurate, the calculator seems damn close.

Thanks for the input! I had my proctor hold on to the scores so I could get my malo's input just in case I wanted to retake it. The mile is definitely not the best, but I was hoping to just submit everything if the mile time wasn't going to affect my chances in the grand scheme of things.

I say your scores are pretty solid, but always try to do better. If you still have time to practice and re-test, I say go for it if you think it will help. Keep in mind that once you get to WP, you will compete with people for OML and there will always be someone who can do something better.
