I'm going to tell you what several alumni and Admissions Partners have told me over the past two years: no one knows. The board is looking to build a whole class that works together and has what the service needs. So statistics don't mean much on their own. Keep pressing forward, and from one hopeful to another fair winds and following seas!

I agree with bjf.2002. All anyone here can give you is a guess. Your best source of info is USCGA admissions.

That being said I would work on the SAT score. Based off the published class profile your score is squarely in the median range. If you are not a recruited athlete, you will want to be well above average to be competitive.

Start practicing for the PFE now. It is different than the CFA at the other SA's and cadence pushups take practice. 300 is the max score, go for it!

Completely agree. These 'What are my chances posts' are pointless. There are so many things that are included in making an appointment decision its pointless to look at a subset.

We are not sure what CGA will be specifically looking for in next year's class, but now that my DS is on the other side of the ride-of-a-lifetime application process, I encourage you to just keep working hard, take advantage of every leadership opportunity, and apply to everywhere you have an interest. Keep believing that your future is bright, and in the end you will be exactly where you should be!

No one on the board knows the answer. You need to put forth your best applications package possible.

Well it's easily within the 0.1 margin of error. You got to have a range if you're estimating.

What everyone else has told you in this thread is true, no one can give you a definitive answer on whether or not you would be appointed as a member of the Class of 2025. Make sure you take the time to research everything the USCGA has to offer and create your Bear's Den profile. The website offers a brief, but informative, class profile: https://www.uscga.edu/typical-class-profile/

If you haven't already, reach out to your assigned Admissions Officer and introduce yourself. They may be able to point you in the right direction if there is a particular area of application that needs some work.

Welcome to this forum! The search button at the top right of your screen is an excellent resource. Make sure you take the time to research different threads and we definitely encourage you to ask questions after doing a little research on your own.

From what you have listed, I'd recommend you try the SAT again - you have a good score but a higher one will only make you more competitive. If you weren't a fan of the SAT, maybe give the ACT a try. It also looks like you have some good leadership and are fairly well rounded. Make sure you really work on your essays once you start your application, it's your chance to tell Admissions more about yourself than what is on paper. Take advantage of the Admissions Partner interview as well.
